Here are the instructions on how to add cool options to your profile here at MagicThemeParks.com

There are more options coming in the future so that you can customize things even further, but for now here a couple of the things that you can do already....

• Add YouTube Video to your profile (with or without auto-play feature)
• Add your Twitter profile feed
• More to come!

.....so, how do you do these customizations? Well, I'll tell ya! :happy:


[HOW TO] Add YouTube Video to your profile

First of all, you have to pick out a video that you would love to have displayed on your profile (keep it clean, it's a family site ) and once you find the video that you want at YouTube.com, then there's something that you have to take note of. That is the YouTube ID#. Here's a picture of where you'll find the YouTube ID#.....



...as you can see, I've made it obvious where to look. Just to the right of the video and in the "URL" field. You'll notice that the URL has the youtube.com address along with the code to determine which video to link to. You'll want to make a note of the letters and numbers 'after' the equals sign. So, for this particular Tinkerbell video, you'll see that the YouTube ID# starts with "Yn2no-x...." and then you can't see the rest. So, you'll have to copy that, paste it in your notepad or any field where you can see the rest and then you'll be able to make out the rest of the YouTube ID#.

One important point here....there are some videos that the user that uploaded has selected as "embedding disabled by request" and those will not display for you. How can you tell if that is the case? Well, check here....



.....and if it shows the "embedding disabled by request" under the "URL" field, that video will not be able to be displayed in your profile. Simply find another video that you'd like to use and get the YouTube ID# from that one.

Now, you take that ID# and enter it into your "Edit Your Details" here on MagicThemeParks.com under the "User Control Panel".

To get to your "User Control Panel" simply go to the top of our site and click the menu option in the navigation bar labeled "UserCP". Simply click on that and you'll be taken to your User Control Panel. Once you get to the UserCP, simply look on the left hand side of the screen and you'll see options listed there. You're going to want to click on "Edit Your Details" and scroll all the way to the bottom where you'll see some options like this....



.....this is where you're going to be entering your YouTube video information. The first piece of information to enter will be the YouTube ID#. Type the number that you got from the video you selected on YouTube. Then, the next step is to label or title your video. This can be anything that you want to describe the video, but keep it brief. And finally the last option is whether or not you want the video to automatically play once someone visits your profile here on MagicThemeParks.com. Leave it blank if you 'do not' want it to play automatically or type "&autoplay1" (without the quotes) into the field if you want it to autoplay once your guests arrive on your MagicThemeParks profile

Once your done selecting your options, simply click on 'save changes' at the bottom of the screen and then visit your profile by clicking your name anywhere on the site (I usually go to the top right hand corner where the "unread posts" link is and click on my name there) to visit your profile and see your video play!

So, do you have a Twitter account setup and would like to share your posts/updates by having them displayed in your MagicThemeParks.com profile? Well, there's a REALLY easy way to do this!

Simply enter your Twitter username into your "Edit Your Details" here on MagicThemeParks.com under the "User Control Panel".

To get to your "User Control Panel" simply go to the top of our site and click the menu option in the navigation bar labeled "UserCP". Simply click on that and you'll be taken to your User Control Panel. Once you get to the UserCP, simply look on the left hand side of the screen and you'll see options listed there. You're going to want to click on "Edit Your Details" and then in the first section you'll see a space like this....



....now, just enter your Twitter.com username in the space provided and click on 'save changes'. As long as your Twitter.com account is not a 'protected' or 'private' account (which most aren't unless you select it to be) then you'll see your Twitter updates towards the top right of your MagicThemeParks profile! Voila, it's done!

PS. If you don't have a Twitter username/account setup, you can visit www.Twitter.com and sign up for free. A warning though...Tweeting (that's what the updates that you make are called on Twitter ) is addictive!
